Welcome to Nana's!

A blonde woman and dark haired man dressed in blue standing in front of some trees.

Hey There, I'm Shelly (Nana)!

I'm so glad you've joined me here at "Welcome to Nana's". I'm a previously homeschooling mother of 3 and now a proud grandparent (Nana) to 6*.

As I have transitioned into the role of being a grandparent, I've realized that I am always looking for ways to connect with my darling grandchildren. I love how kids get into a project, a craft, a game, and open their imaginations and their hearts.

That's where the magic is!

Where It All Began

During our homeschooling days, I loved incorporating hands-on projects into our children's education. We would mix art with science, crafts with history, and goodness did we have fun!

My mix of creativity and education took another form after our kids grew up and I went to teach in our local public high school. I taught sewing in a Fashion and Design class, Family Studies, Human Growth and Development, and Food Science (among others) in the public education system for 10 years. However my ideas for creative projects didn't stop with the world of education!

With an ever-building list of ideas (and fully stocked craft closet), I have especially loved engaging with my grandkids through arts and crafts. I'm constantly amazed at the ideas they come up with and have loved seeing their unique artistic expressions over the years! It is a special way to connect, to have a whole lot of fun, and to share time and conversation along the way.

Welcome to Nana's!

I decided to start Welcome to Nana's so I could share these ideas with you too. So if you (like me) are looking to connect with your kids through creativity, you've come to the right place.

With over 400 crafts (and counting), there is something here for everyone. Look around and you'll see crafts for all seasons, interests, holidays, mediums, and ages.

Let us supply the ideas, so you and your kids can get to the fun part...celebrating creativity!
