Free Happy Easter Coloring Page

Happy Easter!

My grand said, “Nana, this coloring page should say, Hoppy Easter!” And she’s right! The Free Happy Easter Coloring page features an adorable bunny that hops in with a basket of Easter eggs that are begging to be colored.

Print a copy of this Free Happy Easter Coloring page and have it ready to color after the egg hunt is done. Click here for the link and print off one for every grand (always be sure to print a copy for yourself, too). Keep them for when the grands come for a visit or drop them in the mail. Everyone loves to get snail mail with a note from Nana!

Egg Hunt Memories...

Easter egg hunts were always a favorite thing for my family growing up. Rain or shine we had an egg hunt on Easter day. Of course our favorite was an outdoor hunt.

Mom would pull our Easter baskets out of storage and away we would run, looking for Easter candy hidden around the back yard.

On the occasion of rain, there were indoor hunts. Sometimes mom would place a basket of candy and the ever present chocolate Easter bunny by our bed to discover when we awoke in the morning.

Easter Nests

But when I got married, my husband’s family Easter egg tradition totally intrigued me. They made little “nests” out of Easter grass and would find them filled with Easter candy the next morning. The Easter bunny was rumored to fill the nests at night while they were sleeping.

Our family adopted this tradition and now we have the grands build their “nests” of grass the night before they go to bed. Often this is done inside to prevent animals from making short work of the Easter bunnies treats.

Each child is given some Easter grass to build a given number of “nests”. They are to show Nana where the nests are so she can help fill the Easter bunny in on who’s nests are whose.

A way to parcel out the candy!

One thing I love about it is that I can evenly divide out the candy and treats between the grands and the older, faster kids don’t take a larger percentage of the Easter candy. This also makes it easier to place appropriate small gifts in the nests that will get to the right grand.

Well that Easter bunny sure does a nice job hopping around and bringing eggs regardless of how you like to hunt them!

Such a cute bunny to color...

That bunny sure is cute in the Free Happy Easter Coloring Page. What color will you color him and what colors should all those eggs be? Have fun coloring together with the grands. Here is that link once again for your coloring page.

And if you like the string Easter eggs in the background of these photos check out the instructions here at: Easy To Make String Easter Eggs

Counting blessings-

I do hope you have a wonderful Easter and can spend some time counting your many blessings.

I count you among my blessings!

Enjoy!
