Cheerful Spring Tri-Fold Table Card

January cheer for a friend

January can be kind of a long month for many people. How about bringing a bit of sunshine to a cold gray day for someone that can’t easily get out of the house on their own or who is just needing some cheer? Make a Cheerful Spring Tri-Fold Table Card for a friend.

Tri-fold Table Card

This card will stand up on the table when you and your grands are finished making it. There is a message on each of the three panels that can be seen from anywhere in the room! It will remind your friend that they are special and that spring will be coming soon!

Attached are the files to copy so you can make your own Cheerful Spring Tri-Fold Table Card for a friend.

Copy the pages

Copy the first page (with the message square and the two blank sections) on a lighter colored paper. We chose light yellow paper. This can be regular colored copy paper, but if you have cardstock that is even better.

Write a special message

Write a special message for your friend in the vine encircled part of the message square.

Fold this page back on the dotted lines and then lay the page out flat again.

The second page needs to be copied in three different colors. We copied this page in bright pink for the valentines section, bright orange for the flower section and deep green for the leaves.

Cut out the pieces

Cut all of these pieces out to be used on your card.

Glue on the Valentines pieces

Glue the pink Valentines pieces on one of the blank panels of the Cheerful Spring Tri-Fold Table Card. We chose to glue the Valentine’s message towards the bottom of the panel and the hearts towards the top. They kind of look like heart shaped balloons floating upwards. Hey, you could draw a string down from each one and make the look like a bunch of balloons if you want!

Glue on the Spring pieces

Glue the “Spring into Spring” message towards the top of the other blank tri-fold panel of the card. Bend the petals of each flower upwards. Place glue ONLY on the back center circle of one of the flower sections (the petals will not be glued down). Glue it onto the bottom section of the card. The two flower petal sections will be glued one on top of the other. So… place glue ONLY on the center circle of the second flower section and glue it on top of the first one so that the petals of the top flower are located between the petals of the bottom flower.

Glue the two leaves to the card under the edges of the flower so they look like they are coming out from the stem of the flower.

I had some little pom poms in my craft drawer so we glued one onto the center of the flower. You could glue on a colorful button or a small circle cut from colorful paper.

Finish decorating your card

If you would like to color or decorate the card more, now is the time to do so! Have fun and personalize it in any way you want. The grands always have a lot of ideas.

Fold and tape

Fold the card back on the dotted lines again.

Bring the two edges of the card together and tape them so the card is in a triangular shape. Use 3-4 pieces of tape so it holds together well.

Now the card will set up on the table by itself. It truly is a Cheerful Spring Tri-Fold Table Card.

The best part, go for a visit!

Here is the best part. Bring the card to the friend you created it for. Won’t they love seeing the grands (and you too of course!)? You can bring a treat to eat together if you want, but the most important part is the time together you can all enjoy. The card on the table will remind your friend of the visit after you are gone.

Spread joy, receive joy

Thinking of others is one of the best ways to lift your own spirits. What a great lesson for the grands and for us! Hey, be sure to make a card for your own table! You will enjoy a spot of cheer as well.

Here is the link for the pattern for the Cheerful Spring Trifold Table Card one more time. Send me a photo of where you brought the cards!!

Enjoy!
