No-sew Felt Flower Napkin Rings & Free Pattern

These No-sew Felt Flower Napkin Rings can be cut out and assembled in a few minutes. They will make a special occasion even more special and beautiful.

The free pattern provided can be cut out from any color of felt. Grab a couple people to help you make flower napkin rings for your spring or summer party.

Green, dark pink and light pink felt, paper pattern, teacup napkin and scissors.

Everyone can help make no-sew flower napkin rings

So this is a fun craft that friends and family can help make for your party.

The supplies are: felt, good scissors and the pattern. That’s it.

Purchase felt

Felt can be purchased from most craft or fabric stores.

I always go overboard when I purchase felt because the colors are so pretty- who can choose? I like to have more than one shade of each color.

Felt is handy to have so I have a small stash for projects. The grands often use it a lot for little sewing projects when they are here.

This project takes 1 piece of green and 4 pieces of the color you choose for your flowers.

Two-toned flowers- two shades of flower colored felt

If you want to have flowers with two tones, purchase three pieces of the darker tone and one of the lighter tone of your flower color choice.

I did a two-tone flower with two shades of pink and liked how it turned out. But I also like solid colored flowers. Your choice of course!

Cut out the pattern pieces

Cut out each pattern piece on the solid lines. There are three pattern pieces.

We will be making 4 napkin rings so each piece will be used multiple times. You will draw around the pattern piece to transfer the pattern onto the felt. It works well to use a ball point pen to draw on felt.

Cut out pieces of felt in green and pink with pattern, pen and scissors resting near by.

Trace and cut out the pieces from felt

Let’s start with the leaf.

Use the leaf pattern and trace the pattern four times onto the green felt. Don’t worry about the slit in the center yet.

Cut out the four leaves.

Bone shaped piece next

Next trace around the bone shaped pattern piece four times onto the flower color felt you chose. For a two-toned flower trace it onto the darker toned flower colored felt.

This will form the ring part of the napkin ring and the very center petal of the flower.

Cut out these four bone shaped pieces.

Hand holding felt petals and greenery together, poking finger through the center to show where to secure all pieces together.

Petal pieces last

The petal pattern piece will be used twice for each flower.

Solid colored flowers-

If you are using one color of felt, trace 8 of these flower petals on the flower colored felt.

Two-toned flowers-

For the two-toned flower like I show in the pictures, trace 4 of the flower petals onto the lighter toned felt and 4 on the darker colored felt.

Cut out the flower petal pieces.

Hand folding a dark pink piece of felt to show how to make the petals for the felt flower napkin ring.

Cutting slits in the leaves and petals.

So each of the leaves and petals need a one inch slit in the center.

Make a stack of one leaf on the bottom and two flower petal pieces on top.

If using two tones of felt for the flowers, stack one leaf, one darker flower petal color, and then one lighter flower petal color on top.

I like to stack the leaf and two petals on top of each other and arrange them so that the curved sections are not all in alignment. The picture shows you what I mean.

Once I have them stacked the way I like, I cut a one inch slit in the center of each one. I want the slits going the same direction on each one, keeping the pieces lined up the way I stacked them.

Watch the video to see how I do this.

Hand holding flower petals and green felt leaves together before securing to make the final felt flower napkin ring.

OK, for the fun part!

Let’s get this no-sew felt flower napkin ring assembled!

Fold a bone shaped felt piece in half and stick the knobbed ends through the slit in the 3 stacked pieces. Go through the slit from the back of the green leaf piece and then through the slits in the petals.

The knobbed ends will make petals in the center of the felt flower and the part on the back forms the napkin ring.

That’s it!

Just repeat this for your other three napkin rings and you are done.

These are so easy and so inexpensive to make.
