Scarecrow Coloring Page
It’s fall harvest time in the Midwest. How about a scarecrow October coloring page?
This October Coloring Page from Welcome to Nana's features a not very scary scarecrow! It's great for kids and adults, so feel free to print off as many as you'd like and pass them around. If you are on a roll with coloring, head to the bottom of this post for more printable fall coloring pages!
How to Make a Real Scarecrow!
We try to make a scarecrow almost every year, they make great fall decorations for your front porch or yard. If you'd like to try one for yourself, check out the one we made awhile back for a step-by-step tutorial! It’s a great fall activity to do with the kids.
After you get your scarecrow all ready to greet people at your door, come inside to color for awhile as you enjoy each other’s company.

Here is the link to that Welcome-To-Nanas-Free-Downloadable-October-Color-Page It is easy to print off and since you can print as many as you'd like, why not make a few variations? These would be fun to pass out at a Halloween party, a fall get together, or as fall themed grandparent gifts to hang on the fridge!
I absolutely love my Prismacolor colored pencils, but you can use any colored pencils, markers or crayons when you color together. There are some small spaces, so I would suggest using utensils with fine tips.
Those crows don’t look too scared by the scarecrow! I doubt you and the grands are either.
What are Complementary Colors?
Complementary colors are opposite one another on the color wheel. As you can see, I used complementary colors when I colored my picture, lots of blue and orange. Look up a color wheel and take a look, those are right across from each other!
That may be a fun thing to point out as you color. There’s much to learn about the color wheel and many ways to use that info in life. Of course, your budding artists may have much to tell YOU about the color wheel. That would be awesome.
Connecting to Kids you love
No matter how you choose to color this page, the important thing is connecting with the kiddos that you love. Use this coloring time as an opportunity for a conversation, or for playtime with other kids around too.
