Trick-or-Treat idea #1 Boo Bubbles monster!

I could only find these very small bubble containers in my small-town shopping options. But I think this monstrous idea would be especially cute on the larger individual bubble containers that are about 4 inches tall.

Measure the height of the container where the “label” would go that you are going to add.

Cut colored paper to that height and then long enough to encircle the container with an extra ½-1 inch to be able to glue the paper on.

Lay the paper flat and draw a monster face with a permanent black marker. You can see a few of the faces I drew on these projects for ideas.

I used hot glue to glue on this label, but I recommend using glue sticks or regular glue. It’s just too easy to burn fingers on hot glue when wrapping a label!

You can add goggly eyes if you want but the drawing works well don’t you think?

That’s it! I think parents would appreciate a non-edible treat in their kids treat bag.

Hand placing Kit Kat candy bar in folded toilet paper roll monster.

Trick-or-Treat idea #2 TP tube treat holder monster!

I couldn’t think of a clever name for this one, can you?

So it would take a long time to save enough TP cardboard rolls for bunches of trick-or-treaters. But if you were doing treats for a limited few, like next door neighbors, grandkids, or the kids in a class at school this is a great option.

Start by painting the tube a monster color of your choice with acrylic paints. I used a purple paint for mine. Then let the paint dry before going on to the next step.

Take the tube and squeeze one end together making creases on either side of the end of the tube.  Then tuck the two flatter sides down into the tube. They fold in and stay there quite well! This will be the bottom of the TP tube monster. Look at the picture to see what I mean if this description is confusing.

Hand folding over and closing the top of a toilet paper roll monster.

Fill the tube with candy and then squeeze and tuck the other end shut. Mine held three pieces of candy and could have held one more (depending on the size of the candy of course).

Use hot glue gun to add a googly eye or two or three!

Tip: I dipped the end of a pencil eraser onto my glue stick to make it sticky. Then I touched the eraser to the googly eye and picked it up. This allowed me to place the googly eye into the hot glue without any chance of burning my fingers on the hot glue! Worked like a charm.

The final touch was making a monster mouth with a permanent marker.

This TP tube treat holder monster turned out so cute!!

Hand placing google eyes on pom poms on top of a pencil.

Trick-or-Treat idea #3 Pencil monster!

So this is another non-edible trick-or-treat option. It’s so easy and quick.

Hot glue a pom-pom onto the eraser end of a pencil (or glue two or three or four!).

Then glue a googly eye or two onto the pom-pom.

Boom That’s all there is to it! Your Pencil monster is finished.

Note: You could also glue on small pieces of felt or beads to make your monsters unique or funky. Use your imagination!!

Hand sliding dum dum lollypop in a homemade trick or treat card with face and "boo!" written on it.

Trick-or-Treat idea #4 Monster sucker holder!

Want to add a little something extra to the suckers you are giving to your trick-or-treaters? The Monster sucker holder is just perfect and goes together SO fast!

Use Colored paper or card stock and cut it in a shape of your choice. I just made a rectangle shape to start.

I cut a zig-zag pattern onto one edge to be “hair” and then added a monster face with a permanent marker.

Using a hole punch, punch two holes vertically on one side of the monster. This is where the sucker will go.

Push the sucker stick down into the higher hole and up through the lower hole. You will need to add a piece of tape over the sucker stick on the back of the monster, so it doesn’t fall out.

This monster is just a piece of paper so you could add a message on it for your neighbors and kids. Wish them Happy Halloween or invite them to a Halloween party if you want. Print the messages off and then cut the monsters out and add the suckers.

Note: This Monster sucker holder could also hold the Monster pencil if you want. You may need to make larger slits in the paper to allow the pencil to go through, but it works!! That makes it a monster holding a monster- double fun!

Purple monster card with googly eye and hand writing the word "boo!" on it.

Trick-or-Treat idea #5 Candy box monster!

This idea can be used on any item that has a box like container such as gum, breath mints, juice boxes or boxed candy of any sort.

Use the box as a pattern to cut a piece of paper that can be glued to the front of the box. Cut out the rectangle.

Hot glue the paper onto the box.

Use hot glue to glue on googly eyes and draw a monster face on the paper with a permanent marker. I also added ears just for fun.

Note: You could wrap the box the way we wrapped the Boo Bubbles above if you prefer. I just thought this was easier to cover only one side of the box.

Hand hot gluing pom pom to the top of a pencil.
How long does this craft take?

Each idea takes between 10-30 minutes, depending on paint and glue dry times.

Can I make these trick-or-treat ideas for a large group?

Sure! I would suggest doing this by grouping tasks together, for example cutting all the paper out at the same time, then drawing the faces, etc.

What ages are these craft ideas aimed towards?

I'd suggest these crafts for kids between 5-13!
