Halloween Trick Or Treat Candy SMores

Published: Nov 1, 2018 · Modified: Jan 4, 2022 by Shelly · This post may contain affiliate links · 1 Comment

Halloween Trick-or-Treat Candy S’Mores

S’Mores are fun any time of the year, but they are even more special in the fall over a bonfire. What better time than Halloween?

Dip into the trick-or-treat bag and let the grands use several of their candy treats to make their Halloween Trick-or-Treat Candy S’Mores have a special twist!

S’Mores are fun and simple to make!

Use a long marshmallow roasting stick to skewer a marshmallow and place over the coals of a fire that is dying back. If you don’t have a fire pit available, you could use a chiminea instead.

To Burn or Not to Burn? The Perfect Roasted Marshmallow

The argument is usually how to cook the marshmallow. I’m a golden brown marshmallow person myself. It takes patience and works best with the embers on the side of the fire. Papa likes to stick the marshmallow in the fire, catch it on fire and then blow it out instead. That’s just not ok with me!! I don’t let Papa roast my marshmallows!! Each of the grands has to learn their own preference.

Note; be very careful with children around a fire. Also, roasted marshmallows are very hot and can burn the mouth and hands. Let them cool a bit before biting into them.

Tip: It works to microwave a marshmallow, flat side down on half of a graham cracker. Place the graham cracker and marshmallow on a plate and microwave for 15-20 seconds. The marshmallow will puff up large, but this works fine for a S’More. Not nearly the atmosphere of a fire, but it will do in a pinch. You could also use the marshmallow spread instead of whole marshmallows and warm the S'More for a few seconds in the microwave.

Trick Or Treat Candy S'Mores Treat- Give it a TWIST!!

For a fun twist, let the kids sort through their Halloween trick-or-treat bag and try a mini Reeses, Mint Pattie, Dove chocolate, or mini chocolate bar of any type for the chocolate part of the S’More.

For another twist, let them try cinnamon or chocolate graham crackers!!

Stack Up the Halloween Trick-or-Treat Candy S'Mores

Break the graham cracker in half and place the chocolate treat of choice and the roasted marshmallow between the two halves.

Squish it down a bit, like a sandwich and take an ooey-gooey bite. Yum!

If you are really feeling like mixing it up, slice some bananas and strawberries and put out some peanut butter or Nutella! The Halloween Trick-or-Treat Candy S'More combinations are endless!!

Snuggle and Share Stories

Snuggling around a fire is a special time to visit and share stories. Grab that opportunity with your special kids.

Enjoy!
