Happy New Year dear friends!

I hope this post is coming to you after a dear season of celebrating the holidays with family or friends! Bring in the New Year with this free winter snowflake coloring page. It's the perfect opportunity to remind your kids that they are as unique and special as a snowflake!

As we approach the new year, I hope that you have had some time to reflect on the Reason for the Season, enjoy family, and look back on the year with gratefulness.

After printing off these snowflakes to color, feel free to use whatever coloring supplies you have on hand! I used colored pencils, blended together in in any bright combination of colors that I found beautiful in the moment.

You could also use markers, or even give some watercolor or acrylic painting a try. You may want to adjust the weight or style of your paper, especially if you are choosing to paint. If you want to bring a little sparkle to the snowflake, you can also add some water with a paintbrush and a sprinkle on a little glitter too!

This coloring page can be downloaded and printed as many times as you would like, so let expression run free and pass one out to kiddos and adults alike! Wouldn't this make a fun holiday card, gift (you could even frame it), or addition to a grandparent or friend's refrigerator once it is decorated?

What is your focus for this new year?

As we leave the old year behind, what are you looking forward to in the next year?

A friend put forth the challenge to me back in 2019 of finding a certain word that will be a theme or focal point for 2020. Though so many things have come to us unexpectedly over the last several years, I give you that same challenge for this new year.

Let me know what word you choose for your 2022! Write it down on a card by your desk or on your mirror and ponder it as the days of January go by.

For those that don’t live in a part of the country or world where there is no snow, use your imagination as you color! Remember you can use any color or coloring utensil you'd like, have some fun!

Unique as a Snowflake

To draw these snowflakes to I looked through magnified pictures of actual snowflakes. How amazing they are, each one designed to be unique and beautiful!

This is a great time to remind your kids (and yourself) that they are each designed to be unique and special as well. Take a moment to speak a blessing over each child as you point out their positive qualities and abilities. Tell them what you appreciate about them.

Don’t forget to do this same thing for yourself. It is easy to get lost in how we are lacking in some way rather than to move forward into our unique qualities and opportunities.
