At the heart of the summer are trips to the beach. The grands could use a beach loving July Coloring Page to pass the time traveling in the car or while resting in the shade after swimming.

Coloring Shades of Blue Water
How many different colors of blue do you have in your colored pencils? Use them all to make water in this picture!
How to Blend Colored Pencils
What is the best color to use to look like sand?
Show the kids how to use one lighter color for a base color, fully coloring in the area. Then using a second darker color to make dots, lines or to lightly color over the base color. You have a whole new color and look on your July Coloring Page!
Try a light brown for the sand and then lightly color over it in certain areas with a darker brown, then with just a little bit of orange. It makes a really neat effect for sand.
Beach Time for Kids (and Adults!)
I’ve not spent a lot of time on an ocean beach, but it always makes me feel so very small as I look out on the water that stretches as far as I can see.
My experiences on the beach are usually on lakes here in the Midwest. Not as amazing, but still so much fun. How nice to see kids playing in the water and building sand castles on the shore. Excuse me, but I think I’ll go join them!
