Steps to Make a Candy Bar Snowman Wrapper
Wrap the candy bar
Find a full length video of this craft at this link: Candy Bar Snowman Stocking Stuffer Full Length Tutorial.
Start by wrapping each of the bars in white paper. I used white copy paper. Cut the paper in half to wrap a full-sized candy bar.
Place the candy bar face down on the center of the paper. Wrap the paper around the bar and tape it in the back. Fold the corners in on each end and then fold them the back of the candy bar. Tape the end on the back.
Make the hat and scarf
Next, make the hat. Cut a piece of the stretchable fleece to approximately 5 inches wide and 6–7 inches tall.
Hot glue this into a long tube that fits onto the top of the candy bar.
Cut fringe on one end of the hat, cut approximately halfway down the tube. Make the fringe as narrow as possible.
Turn up a cuff on the opposite end of the fleece tube and slip it onto the end of the candy bar. The glued seam of the tube should be to the back of the bar.
Tie a ribbon around the center of the tube right where the fringe stops. Tie it in a knot or a bow.
Cut a piece of ribbon that’s approximately 8 to 10 inches long.
For the scarf, cut a piece of fleece that is approximately ¾ inches wide and about 10-12 inches long. Tie it around the center of the candy bar for a scarf so the knot is on the front of the candy bar. Trim the scarf ends to a length you like.
Draw the face and buttons
Draw a face and buttons on the front of the candy bar with permanent markers or washable markers.
Draw two black eyes, an orange triangle carrot nose, and five or six small black circles or dots in a smile under the carrot. That completes the face.
Then draw four or five buttons down the front of the candy bar for buttons (below the scarf).
Draw a red heart on the front right or left of the candy bar over the heart of the snowman.
Craft Tips for a Snowman Candy Bar Wrapper
- Assembly line- Make several candy bar snowmen at once, doing each step on each bar before moving on.
- Sew instead of glue- You can sew the tubes together. Fold the fleece, right sides together, and sew a small 6 inch seam. Then turn the tube inside out.
- Glue- Use a spot of hot glue to hold on the hat if it is slipping off.
- X-large candy bar- Use an extra large candy bar instead of full sized. Increase the size of the pieces to fit the larger bar.
- Stockings- Make a Hershey candy bar snowman for each of the grandkids and slip them in their stocking
- Class gift- Have the kids help you make a snowman for each person in their class!
Craft Variations on a Candy Bar Wrapped Snowman
Here are a few variations you’re welcome to try with this snowman candy bar craft:
- Don’t wrap- Don’t want to wrap the bars? Cut pieces of white paper the size of the bar and glue them to the front.
- Other fabrics- Use various stretchy hat materials like a knit glove, sock, knit fabrics, or an old sweater.
- Googly eyes- Instead of drawing the snowman eyes, glue on googly eyes!
- Message- Write a message on the candy bar.
