Cute Craft Alert: Easy Photo Booth Props

I love going to weddings or events that have a photo booth, don't you? You grab a few family members or friends and all act silly while putting on or holding different props.

This post will help you create your own photo booth for a holiday or event. The kids are going to have a blast making props and then taking pictures of one another.

You can easily send out the pictures if you take them with your phone as a camera. A picture is a great keepsake from your event!

Craft Supplies

Here are a few quick notes about the supplies you will need to make this fun holiday activity.

  • Free Printable- Make a copy of the Photo Booth Props Free Printable
  • White cardstock paper- Print off the printable on white cardstock paper.
  • Colors- colored pencils, markers, or crayons work great for coloring the props.
  • Scissors- You will need scissors to cut out the props (of course).
  • Wooden handles- Use large craft sticks, cooking skewers, or small craft dowels.

Steps to Make Photo Booth Props

Make a copy of the Photo Booth Props Free Printable. Print this off on white cardstock paper.

Have the kids color and decorate the props with colored pencils, markers, or crayons. Cut them out on the solid outside black line.

Mount the props

Mount the props on large craft sticks or small dowels like skewers. Hot glue them to the back of the props towards one side or the other of the prop, not in the middle. Glue a square piece of paper over the dowel rods just to make it stronger (watch the video to help make this clear).

Set up a photo booth and take pictures!

Gather other props from your home such as hats, necklaces, scarves, sunglasses, or glasses.

Find a location in your home that works as a backup as a photo booth. Preferably a blank wall or in front of the Christmas tree for example.

Use your phone is the camera and have fun taking pictures in your photo booth!

Craft Tips for Funny Photo Booth Props

  • Skewers: Be sure to break the sharp points off the skewers before use.
  • Cutting: you don't have to cut the props exactly on the white lines, can kind of round them off especially if there are a lot of pivot turns.
  • Collect props: Find props in your home or from a thrift store- hats, scarves, old glasses, picture frames, or jewelry.
  • Photo booth: Find a background that looks good behind the photos like the Christmas tree or a blank wall if possible.

Craft Variations

Want to switch things up? Here are a few ways you can customize and play with this craft.

  • Customize: Use your own ideas to create your own props on white cardstock paper.
  • Holiday or event themes: Christmas photo booth props, New Years photo booth props! Think of theme ideas to match your event.
  • Slideshow: Make your own slideshow from the pictures you take! Show the guests the slideshow before they leave. Project it onto your TV with blue tooth!
