Instructions

  • If you have an envelope that you want to use, cut your card to the size that will fit into that envelope. Remember you want your card to open, so fold the cardstock paper in half and then cut it to the envelope size. I used a whole 8.5x11 inch piece of colored cardstock folded in half for my card.
  • Thumb through your magazines and cut out pictures and words that remind you of the person that you are making the card for. If you cannot find the words that you want, cut out the letters and piece them together to make the words in a collage!
  • Take the time to write a message with a permanent marker before you glue on the magazine pictures and words. I chose to write a message inside the card.
  • There are many ways to put together a cut out word card.
If you have larger pictures, use a glue stick to put these on the card first. You will notice that I covered the entire surface of the front of my card with pictures before gluing on the words. This is optional, but large pictures will cover up your words if you glue the words on first.
