Instructions

Felt Shamrock

  • Shamrocks have three leaves shaped like hearts.
Cut 3 squares of green felt that are approximately 2 inches by two inches in size. Fold the square in half and cut out a heart. These do not need to be perfect.
You can use the free Shamrock template if you prefer drawing around the shamrock outline to cut out the leaves.
Put a small amount of hot glue in the pointed end of the heart and press it together so it gives it a 3D shape
Clip off the tip of the heart so that the three leaves can fit more closely together.
Glue the three leaves together, two at a time, with a small dot of hot glue on the edge close to the point.

Shamrock stem

  • Cut out a small piece of felt the same size as your button and glue it to the back of the button. Try to keep the holes from being covered up with glue
Make a hole through the felt to open up two of the button holes. Use the point of your scissor, that worked well for me.
Thread the two ends of your floral wire down through those two holes in the button. Start at the front of the button and go down through the felt to the back of the button. Twist the wire together for the stem.
Glue the button to the back of the 3 leaved felt Shamrock.
Make several of these and put them together for a bouquet in a small vase.
If you make a single Shamrock for a pin, you can add a small rectangle shaped piece of felt as the stem. Just glue it onto the back of the Shamrock.

Shamrock flower (optional)

  • The free printable has a pattern for a shamrock flower. Or freehand cut a five-leaf white or pink flower from white felt (as seen in the pictures and video).
Thread the wire through the hole of the bead and fold in half.
Poke the wires through the center of the felt shamrock flower.
Twist the wires to make a stem. Place the flower in among the shamrocks.
