Equipment

  • Mixing Bowls
  • Mixer
  • Wooden spoons
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Baking sheets

Ingredients

  • 1 cup softened butter (2 sticks)
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup white sugar
  • 1 small package pudding mix (vanilla or chocolate)
  • cup cocoa (optional- leave out for plain choc chip cookies)
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 ¼ cups flour
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 pkg chocolate chips or M&Ms (I like mini chocolate chips)
  • parchment paper

Instructions

  • Cream the butter, brown sugar, and white sugar with a Mixer until light and fluffy in a large Mixing bowl.
  • Add the pudding mix, cocoa, 2 eggs, and vanilla and mix.
  • In a separate bowl, mix the flour and baking soda.
  • Slowly add the dry ingredients to the first bowl and mix. You may need to do this by hand as the dough may get too stiff for the mixer.
  • Mix in the chocolate chips with a Wooden spoon.
  • Chill the dough in the refrigerator.
  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  • Scoop out spoonfuls of the dough onto an ungreased cookie sheet. May use parchment paper on the Baking sheets.
  • Bake cookies for 10 minutes.

Notes

Tip: You can leave out the cocoa and this is a great soft chocolate chip cookie recipe.
Tip: You can use M&Ms instead of chocolate chips if you want.
Tip: I like mini chocolate chips but use what you want. Milk chocolate, white chocolate, dark chocolate chips all work well- or a mixture!
