Instructions

  • Measure your toilet paper tube length and add four inches and use this measurement for your paper length.
Cut your scrapbook paper into a rectangle that’s the paper length you just figured and is 6 inches wide.
Draw around the end of the TP tube onto the paper and cut out the circle. Set this aside.
  • Position your paper so that it is one inch from the bottom of the paper and 3 inches from the top. The 6 inches is the width.
Roll the rectangle paper around the toilet paper tube and tape it (or glue it) in place.
  • Cut slits into the one inch end of the paper that are about ½ to ¾ inch. Cut them from the edge of the paper to the edge of the TP tube inside the paper.
Push these slits inward to cover the end of the TP tube.
Glue the circle paper over the top of these slits. I used a hot glue gun and hot glue for this step.
  • Cut narrow slits in the scrapbook paper on the 3 inch end of the treat box. The slits will be about ⅛th inch wide. Cut them from the edge of the paper down to the edge of the TP tube inside.
  • Put the candy down inside the toilet paper tube.
  • Bend a pipe cleaner in half and wrap each of the ends around your finger to give it a twirl shape. Put the folded end down into the top of the TP tube. I put two pipe cleaners into mine.
Pull the fringe up into a “pony tail”, catching the two pipe cleaners in with the fringe.
Wrap another pipe cleaner around the fringe pony tail to keep it in shape. Add a drop of hot glue to keep this in place.
  • Decorate the outside of the firecracker however you want to. I added strips of paper or stripes of washi tape around mine. Then added a star cut out. Have fun!
