Crispy Rice Christmas Wreath Cookies

Equipment

  • Mixing bowl
  • Saucepan

Ingredients
  

  • 4 T butter
  • 10 oz marshmallows
  • Green food coloring
  • 6 cups crispy rice cereal
  • Red hots and/or multi-colored sprinkles

Instructions
 

  • Measure out the rice cereal into a large mixing bowl.
  • Melt the butter and the marshmallows in a saucepan over medium-low heat on the stove, stirring constantly.
  • Stir in the green food coloring to make a deep green color.
  • Pour this mixture over the rice cereal in the mixing bowl and stir till the cereal is well covered.
  • Spray muffin tins with non-stick cooking spray.
  • Spoon the slightly cooled cereal mixture into the muffin cups to about ½ full.
  • Use the handle of a wooden spoon to make a hole in the center of each wreath cookie.
  • Press several red hots onto each cookie.
