Instructions

  • Use the painter’s tape to tape the end of the yarn to the wall or a door frame at one end of the hallway. You can tie a knot in the end of the yarn, so it doesn’t get pulled out of the tape easily.
    I double taped each place where the yarn was attached to the walls which was helpful in keeping the yarn in place.
  • Stretch the yarn back and forth from wall to wall all the way down the hallway. 
  • The key to making this activity challenging is to make various angles with the yarn as it goes from wall to wall. The angles should intersect (high and low) and prevent a player from just getting on their tummy and sliding underneath the whole way down the hallway.

Tip: Leave just a bit of give in the yarn so that if it gets touched by a player it doesn’t get pulled down immediately. But not so much give that is sags. 
Make the course easier for younger children and more difficult for older kids or adults.
