Add the chilled butter and cut it in until crumbly.
Add the egg, vanilla, pumpkin, and whipping cream (optional- cinnamon chips).
Stir until mixed.
Place dough on a floured surface. Knead until not as sticky.
Press out to ¾ inch thick.
Cut into pie shaped pieces OR cut with a round biscuit cutter. You can make these rounds into pumpkins or cats if desired (or other shapes you think up!). Use a round biscuit cutter to cut rounds from the dough. Place on a cookie sheet.Attach two triangle pieces for ears if making cat scones.For the pumpkin, press ribs into the round dough to look like pumpkin ribs. Add a stem.
Bake at 375 degrees for 15 minutes. When cool, toppings or decorations can be added.
Orange flavored drizzle:
Add just enough orange juice to the powdered sugar to make it run off the spoon. Drizzle over the scone.
Cat decorations:
Place a small amount of frosting on the cat scone and place chocolate chips or Skittles on the frosting.
Cut a stick of gum in long strips. Use these as whiskers and hold them in place with a bit of frosting.
